Is it finally spring? I really hope so this time. We had a fairly mild spell of weather the week before last, and the sun shone, if somewhat half-heartedly. I would say it was almost pleasant. The unexpected warmth even fooled nature, and all the trees in our neighbourhood burst into blossom, only for the hopeful blooms to be blown to smithereens by gusty winds and then battered by pouring rain. It was not to be, and the miserable weather returned last week. This winter has seemed interminable, even though I was lucky enough to spend a month of it basking in a European summer. And so it continues. This morning as we shivered in the dog park, someone said hopefully that she’d heard the cold weather will be over by next weekend. As we wait indoors for that happy day, I thought I’d share a quick garden update with you. The sun did come out for a moment last Saturday, and I quickly pulled up some of my autumn planted veg to cheer me up whilst I’m waiting impatiently for spring.
